Education QLDÂ introduces Harrisfield Primary School in Noble Park, for all your education and learning needs.
Harrisfield Primary School was established in 1956 in an area of Noble Park known to local residents as Harrisfield. Harrisfield is located at 495 Princes Highway, on the corner of Callander Road. The school has a natural catchment area bordered by Princes Highway, Chandler and Corrigan Roads and the Pakenham railway line (Noble Park Station).
Recent building works funded under the Building the Educational Revolution program enabled all our students to move from 55 year old buildings into new state of the art facilities.
It is not possible to imagine the manner in which staff and students work in these new buildings, you really need to visit and observe the focused learning that is taking place.
At present there are 250 students enrolled at Harrisfield from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Whilst the school curriculum addresses all areas of the Australian Curriculum in Victoria (AusVELS) there are also specialist teaching programs in Physical Education, Visual Arts and Science.
To address the curriculum area of the Arts engage the services of external providers. This year the students participated in a dance program which was facilitated by Footsteps Dance Company. Throughout term 3 all students will attend Visual Arts classes which will have a focus on Australian painters. Each year level will study a particular artist and each student will produce a painting on canvas. The theme for their painting will be the colours and visual image which best reflects their identity (ID). Towards the end of the term students will be exposed to a variety of different performances and in the final week of term we will celebrate with the Harrisfield Art Show where all canvases will be on display.
