Prospect Primary School belongs to a school community who value respect, success and creativity. There is a strong commitment to innovation which has led to the school being chosen as a National Leading School in the Microsoft Partners in Learning Innovative Schools Program.
Our goal is, through innovative approaches to learning and teaching, that all students will achieve their potential as successful and creative learners. We offer a personalised approach to student learning, with an emphasis on the use of learning technologies to drive highly engaging learning experiences. Students have a range of opportunities to share their learning with the wider educational community and represent the school at national events. Stephen Heppel showcased our school at his latest Listen to Learners conference and this has gained us worldwide exposure.
The student cohort is close to 400 and represents a range of cultural groups from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. We have specialist programs in visual and performing arts and Greek. Extra-curricular activities include 'Tournament of Minds', 'Primary Mathematics Challenge', choir and instrumental music. Improved student engagement and wellbeing, Literacy, Science and Numeracy are the school priorities.
We support healthy living and participate in interschool and SAPSASA sport. Students are encouraged to participate in out-of-school hours sporting activities managed by the parent community.
